The design improves flexibility for diverse acts and activities, introduces transformative landscape, and increases visibility with iconic architectural moves – notably a seemingly weightless stage canopy. Beyond the stage itself, support facilities for concert and festival activities are a part of a functional, efficient plan. As staff and board members collaborated on the project, a concept emerged to extend the site up to downtown, creating a visible and direct pedestrian link from Main Street down to the river, which was previously obscured. The design amplifies walkability from the city’s core to a lively waterfront destination.
