The solution became to create an open, contemporary environment using Universal Design principles that empowered the resident’s independence and minimized maintenance, resulting in improved quality of life for the user.
Inspired by the idea of empowering the user to be comfortable and independent in the space, a warm and inviting, yet durable, material palette was chosen. Resilient wood plank flooring brings a light earthy texture throughout the kitchen and dining room. ADA stainless steel appliances work in harmony with the clean lines of the millwork and countertops. Improved lighting throughout allows for better user control and a new art-gallery wall.
