First Look: Cleveland Clothing Company

Our engineers recently completed work on Cleveland Clothing Co.’s new Van Aken District shop. Working with Arkinetics and Robert Powell Architects, the team created a streamlined retail space with high ceilings, a full height glass storefront, effective lighting, and HVAC balancing and distribution. Cleveland Clothing's bold new storefront enables this up-and-coming business to spread Cleveland Pride to Shaker Heights.

Library Lofts Pairs Living with Learning

Initial plans for the literary-inspired Library Lofts quickly won approval from the city’s Euclid Corridor Design Review Committee last week. The apartment building, containing over 180 units, will be built above the future Martin Luther King, Jr. Branch of Cleveland Public Library along Euclid Avenue in University Circle.

The overall design is an expression of the literary forms found beneath it; enabling effective responses to the site, tenants, and amenities that will come to exist in the building.

Cool Facade Enters the Business District

Graffiti, a premier promotional apparel maker, occupied a dated storefront in Cleveland’s Midtown neighborhood for decades. To bring heightened visibility to the brand and establish themselves as active members of the community, Graffiti looked to refresh their façade to better reflect their contemporary aesthetic and identity. Rather than printing color directly to metal, a layered approach created the appearance of pixels behind the perforated pattern, revealing controlled color from the inner skin. Inspired by the manufacturing industry itself, the solution is eye-catching and impactful.
