Quietly tucked within a multi-institutional Jewish community campus, Mandel Jewish Day School aspired to have a building as innovative and inspiring as what the students are learning.

With a light-filled two-story entry, the renovation created a modernized space for the community for one entity, the Joseph and Florence Mandel Jewish Day School. Renewed energy was brought to educational spaces with bright, welcoming classrooms that allow art and science labs to proudly be “on display” to those passing by.

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) recently awarded the Design-Build contract for the Ashley U.S. Courthouse in Toledo, Ohio to the team of Bialosky, Whiting-Turner and William Rawn Associates. The $86 million project, part of the GSA’s Design Excellence Program, will make significant improvements to the 1932 Classicism-style courthouse and create a modern 96,000 square foot addition. The Courthouse will contain Bankruptcy, District and Magistrate Courts, Grand Jury Suites, District Clerks, and offices for the US Marshall’s Service and US Attorney’s office.

Last month, the NAIOP Chapter of Northern Ohio celebrated winning projects a virtual ceremony. Bialosky received three of the event’s honors: Upstairs at Van Aken was awarded Multifamily Interior Design of the Year, and Tri-C's Metro Campus Center was named both Education Interior Renovation of the Year and Exterior Renovation of the Year.
