In 1946 Jack Alan Bialosky, Sr. returned home from World War II having served in the Navy. He attended the Yale School of Architecture which exposed him to Frank Lloyd Wright, Eliel Saarinen, and Louis Kahn, before earning his degree in 1949. Exuberance in a post-WWII America, combined with confidence in his own ability, led Jack Sr. to open his own practice in his Shaker Square apartment in 1951.

He is remembered as a daring architect, a brilliant painter, and a great storyteller. He prioritized family above all else, which continues to be a tenet of our firm. We would not be together if not for him.

We are honored to work with The City Mission, the Cleveland-based organization that assists those striving to overcome homelessness by providing food and shelter, critical recovery services, and programs to help them build a stable and independent future.

The new 9,000 SF addition to Laura’s Home, their women and children’s facility, will include classroom space, a dedicated daycare facility, and an expanded youth program space. Coupled with the new addition, a partial renovation of their existing building will allow The City Mission to significantly enhance the level of wraparound care they provide for clients as they guide them towards a path for success for their family.

Building renovations at their Men’s Facility in Midtown will allow the nonprofit to expand bed capacity and enhance the educational and career-building opportunities. The project is anticipated to break ground in September 2021.

Last month the May Dugan Center, the Ohio-City based nonprofit, announced a $5.6 Million capital campaign to raise funds for facility renovations and upgrades. The organization was founded in 1969, at the time of President Lyndon B. Johnson’s War on Poverty and the Kennedy-Johnson Economic Opportunities Act, and continues to provide aid and programming to neighbors in need.

With the urgent need to increase their services, May Dugan partnered with Bialosky to revive the facility to serve the many different needs of the community. With your support, the May Dugan Center will build on their strong track record of excellence and ensure this long-standing community asset remains for decades to come.

The Stocker Arts Writing Center at Lorain County Community College brings a distinctive and inspiring learning environment for teaching, tutoring, and writing. Inspired by diverse forms of writing, authors, and poets, the design establishes a whimsical space that encourages students to write creatively in a relaxed, flexible space. A custom mural by Derek Brennan anchors the space and features legendary writers Hart Crane, Langston Hughes, Toni Morrison, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Rita Dove, and Louis Bromfield. First opened in August 2020, the Writing Center empowers the campus community to express themselves through creative arts.

The Tappan is a new, 95-unit apartment building located in the Scranton corridor of Cleveland's Tremont neighborhood. The building's dark iron spot brick skin references the grittier, semi-industrial section of the neighborhood, while warm wood elements peel away to evoke an intimate, residential sanctuary.

A bright, inviting space on the corner of Auburn and Scranton is now home to Leavened Bakery, opened by professional baker Ian Herrington in October 2020. The smells of baking bread and coffee fill the air through the portal threading its way to a new public pocket park.
