The Parma Heights project establishes a civic hub that serves as both a modern library and a community education center while creating a thoughtful connection to its park setting. The design seamlessly integrates three distinct program components—library services, educational outreach, and early childhood education—within a cohesive architectural expression.
The building is strategically situated at the junction of community resources and natural assets, with transparent facades that engage both the arrival plaza and park trails. Richly textured materials complement the natural setting while carefully framing views toward the surrounding landscape.
The resulting facility transcends traditional library functions by integrating comprehensive educational services for all ages, serving as both a gateway to the Metroparks trail system and a community anchor with spaces that blur the distinction between interior and exterior environments. This thoughtful civic amenity creates meaningful connections between community resources and the natural landscape, establishing a place where library services, adult education, and early childhood learning converge.
The project is currently under construction, opening to the public in early 2026.
